A
ketubah is the traditional Jewish marriage contract.

Ketuv to buy a limited edition print or commission a custom ketubah by Arielle Angel, or another one of the many fine artists available on the site.
I wanted to give couples the opportunity to receive a unique and personal reflection of their love. These ketubahs were created especially for the bride and groom based on their own descriptions of what they were looking for. As such, these designs reflect the desires of the particular couples, and do not reflect any limitations of style, color, composition, subject matter, etc. On the contrary, I work with couples to create their ideal design, whatever it may be.
I usually use acrylic paint or gouache in my designs, depending on the feel of the ketubah, and I always embellish with real 24 karat gold leaf.
You can start by choosing the text.
Ketuv can help you find the right text for you, quickly and easily. I can write the text by hand, Hebrew and English, or you could have the calligraphy printed on an empty paper. You can see examples of both handwritten text and printed text in this gallery. If the text is printed, it is important for us to consider composition ideas together, as the shape and size of the written component matter to the design as a whole.
The preliminary design process involves a free consultation. In this discussion, we may exchange ideas and existing images. (I can work with you no matter where you are in the country, or the world, through the telephone, email or Skype.) Based on this consultation, I will create sample sketches until you feel the design is perfect.
The value of your ketubah is based upon the size and complexity of design and can range from $1,000 to $1500, plus materials charges. I will ask for a deposit once we agree to begin the sketching process, and will request half of the cost up front once I begin the painting process.
References"Arielle custom painted our ketubah and it's perfect. We met with her a few times before we were married to discuss our ideas and the aspects of our relationship we wanted highlighted. She understood exactly what we were looking for, and she delivered a perfect combination of traditional Judaica and modern contemporary art. Our ketubah is our favorite piece of art, and visitors are always drawn to it. We would recommend Arielle to anyone looking to create a meaningful portrait of their wedding vows."

"We truly cannot thank you enough for our absolutely beautiful ketubah! We feel so lucky to have had you work with us to come up with something that we truly love and that we feel is a true reflection of us. Thank you for spending so much time to make this what we wanted. We absolutely love it and can't wait to display it at the wedding and in our home!"
